Coinhive to shutdown operations

The crypto-mining browser service announced it will close several updates to Monero

Coinhive will cease operations for various updates of Monero. The news was published by several international media. Apparently, the decision is due to a fall in the hashrate of the network of crypto coins focused on privacy, coupled with falling prices.

It should be noted that Monero depreciated more than 85% in the last year and the drop in the hash rate of more than 50 percent hit hard to users of digital currency.

The company maintains that operations will close effectively on March 8 and users will be able to withdraw their funds from the platform until next April 30.

It should be noted that Coinhive was launched in September 2017 and at the time was promoted as an alternative to advertising on websites. The tool allows web page operators to profit from customers’ CPUs through cryptoactives.
