Chinese companies will not buy US agricultural products

The companies suspended the acquisition of such products that come from the United States, so the imposition of a new tariff is not ruled out

Chinese companies suspended the acquisition of agricultural products of American origin, to which the authorities of the Asian giant do not rule out imposing a new tariff, as announced by the Ministry of Commerce of China.

From the Chinese Ministry, the US threat to impose additional tariffs of 10% to 300,000 million dollars of products from China has been described as a “serious violation” of what was agreed between the leaders of China and the United States during the recent G20 summit.

In this way, the  Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council of China will keep open the possibility of imposing a levy on US agricultural products acquired since August 3 and related Chinese companies have suspended purchases of US agricultural products.

The US is expected thoroughly implement the consensus reached at the meeting between the heads of state of both countries, and execute the commitments to create the necessary conditions for cooperation in the agricultural area between China and the US, said the Ministry.

Last week, US President Donald Trump announced that the US country will impose a 10% tariff on $ 300 billion of imports of products from China from September 1st.

“Our representatives have just returned from China, where they have had constructive talks about a future trade agreement. We think we had already reached an agreement with China three months ago but, sadly, China decided to renegotiate the agreement before signing it,” Trump said in a tweet.

“China agreed to buy agricultural products from the United States in large quantities, but that has not happened. Also, my friend President Xi said he would stop selling phetanyl to the United States, something that never happened.”

The 10% tariffs on $ 300 billion of products imported from China are applied to the percentage of exports still exempt from levies. The remaining 250,000 million dollars will continue to be subject to a 25% tariff, according to the US president.
