China denounces US accusations about espionage

This week, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing mentioned the statements made by Mike Pompeo from Hungary about the Huawei company

This week China rejected statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who accused the Asian company Huawei of espionage.

So said Pomeo, who is on tour in Hungary and also said that the espionage carried out by the telecommunications company is to provide information to the Chinese government.

“For some time now, the United States has not made any effort and has invented without scruples all kinds of baseless accusations,” said Hua Chunying, spokesman for the Beijing Foreign Ministry.

The secretary of state also mentioned the agreement between Hungary and Huawei to promote the use of 5G technology in Eastern European countries.

“If an equipment is implanted where we have important American systems, for us it is more difficult to collaborate”, he explained.

In 2018 Australia, New Zealand and the United States prohibited the Chinese company from participating in the deployment of the 5G network.
