British company provides blockchain solutions for waste management

Marine Transport International (MTI) has developed a solution that will allow recycling companies to obtain transparency in their management

The British company Marine Transport International (MTI), announced in a statement that it will provide favorable solutions based on blockchain technology for waste management, allowing other companies that are managed under the concept of recycling to obtain transparency in material management of waste.

The publication states that the solution is a tool called Traca, developed with the support of The Recycling Association and has already completed its first pilot test with the shipment of seven containers from Potters Bar (England) to Thailand.

According to the source of its publication, the objective is to decentralize the encrypted information in such a way that the volume of the cargo and the content be deactivated only by the parts that make up the chain, so that the garbage producers, recyclers, regulators and processing centers can access on time, quickly and safely the information they need about the shipment.

Simon Ellin, executive director of the Recycling Association, highlights the importance of executing solutions in this area through blockchain technology. “We are an increasingly regulated industryWe trust that the data is true and accurate, but when it passes through different hands and it becomes a third, fourth or fifth hand information, rarely can it be proven there.”

Some environmental companies such as Heura, dedicated to environmental consulting and waste management, and SigneBlock, which develops blockchain solutions, said that this project in environmental management through recognized technology is pioneer’ in Spain to technological and environmental level”.
