The BitPay cryptocurrency payment provider maintained a high performance in 2018 despite the downward trend of the market. The Atlanta-based company, Georgia (United States) managed more than USD $ 1 billion in digital currency payments.
In addition, the BitPay wallet -Copay- and other wallets using the Bitcore Wallet Service (BWS) managed to capture 1.5 million customers. An increase of 78% compared to 2017.
The placement figure that BitPay has achieved gives it a record performance for the second year in a row. Taking into account that the platform applied adjustments in its structure in 2018, the figure of one billion dollars is a milestone in its seven years of operation.
But this is not the only achievement of the platform. BitPay also has “a record of transaction fee income when adding new customers, as in B2B operations.” This represents a growth of almost 255% compared to the previous year.
According to Stephen Pair, co-founder and CEO of the firm, the commercial activity maintains its rapid growth through the solutions it offers that are cheaper and faster than a traditional banking transfer.
